Tulsa Welding School marks 75th anniversary
Tulsa Welding School (TWS) marked its 75th anniversary with a campus event on April 5 for current and past students, faculty, and guests. The event included tours, demonstrations, food and entertainment, and remarks from several dignitaries.
What began as a singular welding school opened by two ambitious pipeline welders is now a multiprogram institution offering training in multiple skilled trades from campuses in Tulsa, Okla.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Houston; and Irving, Texas.
TWS leaders work with local and national employers to ensure students are consistently learning the latest industry standards and are equipped to enter the workforce upon graduation. The school also launched OcuWeld in recent years, a virtual reality welding simulator that provides students the opportunity to practice hands-on classroom training in a virtual environment.
